Ex-corporate HP EliteBooks and ProBooks, along with premium Spectre and Envy models, keep good value in Montreal. Bring yours in: we evaluate it in front of you and make a same-day offer. Which line you have matters: a business EliteBook or ProBook is built and serviced differently from a consumer Pavilion, and that difference shows up in the offer. Knowing your exact model — check the product number on the underside sticker or in HP Support Assistant — lets us confirm the configuration faster. We're at 757 Rue Beaubien East, steps from Beaubien metro in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.
What we check on an HP
We test the keyboard and trackpad, battery health, the display (touchscreen on Envy/Spectre), the hinges and thermal behaviour — the thin Envy/Spectre chassis can run hot, so we test under load. On ex-fleet EliteBooks/ProBooks we check for a BIOS password and management lock.
Broken or faulty HP — we still evaluate it
Broken hinge, cracked screen, dead keyboard, overheating, won't boot, swollen battery: we evaluate everything. EliteBooks are repairable and sought-after, so a faulty machine keeps parts and refurbishing value. Don't repair before selling.
Which HPs we buy
EliteBook and ProBook (business), Pavilion and Envy (consumer), Spectre (premium) and Omen (gaming). Recent EliteBooks and Spectres with lots of RAM and a large SSD are worth the most. Bring the original charger (USB-C or barrel).
What raises or lowers your HP offer
Two things move an HP offer the most: the line and the configuration. A business EliteBook or ProBook with plenty of RAM, a large SSD and a recent Intel or Ryzen chip sits at the top, and business extras like an HP Sure View privacy display or dock support help. A consumer Pavilion in a plastic chassis sits lower, while Envy and Spectre land in between when their touchscreen and hinge are clean.
What pulls an offer down is condition and locks: a swollen or worn battery, a loose hinge, a thin Envy or Spectre that runs hot and throttles under load, or a machine still tied to a BIOS password, HP Sure Admin or DriveLock. Clearing those before you visit moves the number the right way. Not sure what you have? Bring it to 757 Rue Beaubien East, near Beaubien metro, for a free, roughly 15-minute evaluation.

Frequently asked questions
Do you buy ex-corporate HP EliteBooks?
Yes, they're in demand. Make sure the BIOS password and any management lock are removed — otherwise the machine stays locked for the buyer and loses value.
My HP overheats / the fan is loud — is it worth anything?
Yes. A clean and fresh thermal paste often fix it, so we buy the machine; the price is adjusted for condition. Bring it in for a free evaluation.
How do I prepare my HP before selling?
Sign out of your accounts, remove the BIOS password, then reset Windows (Settings → System → Recovery → Reset → Remove everything). Bring the charger. We can guide you in store.
Do I need to bring the charger?
Ideally yes — an original HP charger (USB-C or barrel, adequate wattage) adds value. Without a charger we still buy it, with a small adjustment.
Should I remove HP DriveLock and Sure Admin before selling?
Yes. DriveLock encrypts the drive and Sure Admin locks the BIOS, so if either stays active the next owner can't set the machine up and it loses value. Clear them in the BIOS menu, sign out of your Microsoft account, then reset Windows. We can walk you through it in store.
