The MacBook Pro holds resale value best of all — especially the 14″ and 16″ Apple Silicon models with Pro and Max chips. Configs with more RAM and SSD are worth notably more, so bring yours in: we inspect it in front of you and make a same-day offer.
What we check on a MacBook Pro
Unlike the Air, the MacBook Pro is actively cooled, so we listen to the fans (noise, bearing wear, dust) and test the machine under load. We also check battery health and cycle count, the mini-LED display on 14″/16″ models (blooming, retention, edge "stage light"), the ports (HDMI, SDXC card reader, MagSafe 3, Thunderbolt), the keyboard and trackpad, and that Activation Lock is off.
On 2016-2019 Intel MacBook Pros, two known faults affect price: the butterfly keyboard and "flexgate" (a too-short display cable causing uneven backlight or a screen that cuts out). We still buy them — the price is adjusted for the actual condition.
Broken or faulty MacBook Pro — we still evaluate it
Cracked or flexgate screen, liquid damage, unstable GPU, dead fan, swollen battery, won't boot: we evaluate everything. Apple Silicon Pro/Max logic boards have strong parts value. Don't repair before selling — the cost almost always exceeds what it adds to the offer.
Which MacBook Pros we buy
13″ M1 and M2, 14″ and 16″ M1 Pro/Max, M2 Pro/Max, M3 Pro/Max, M4 Pro/Max, plus Intel MacBook Pros 2018-2020 (i5, i7, i9) at residual value. Custom configs (32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB RAM; 1 TB, 2 TB and larger SSDs) are worth substantially more — bring the serial number for an exact evaluation.
How to sell your MacBook Pro in Montreal
1. Back up (Time Machine or iCloud). 2. Sign out of your Apple ID — System Settings → [your name] → Sign Out — which turns off Find My and Activation Lock, including on T2 machines. 3. Erase: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Erase All Content. 4. Bring the MacBook and its charger (USB-C or MagSafe 3). We can walk through the steps with you in store.

Frequently asked questions
Do you buy Intel MacBook Pros with the T2 chip?
Yes. The T2 chip only means you must disable Activation Lock by signing out of your Apple ID before selling. Once that's done, we buy the Intel MacBook Pro normally, at its residual value.
My MacBook Pro has "flexgate" (screen cuts out) — do you buy it?
Yes. Flexgate mainly affects 2016-2018 Pros. We buy the machine with the price adjusted for severity. If Apple repaired the display under its program, mention it.
My MacBook Pro mini-LED screen has blooming — what is it worth?
Slight blooming is normal on mini-LED panels and barely affects value. Noticeable retention or "stage light" lowers it. We test the display in front of you and adjust accordingly.
Are high-end M4 Max configs worth more?
Considerably. A MacBook Pro M4 Max with 48 GB or more RAM and a 1 TB+ SSD is worth far more than a base config. Bring the serial number to capture your exact configuration value.
