Game cards and microSD — what to take out before selling
Take out your game cartridges and your microSD card before you bring the console in — they aren't part of the trade and stay with you. Pop every cartridge out of the top slot, then lift the kickstand and remove the microSD, since that card holds your downloaded games, save data and screenshots. Your digital library lives on your Nintendo account rather than on the console itself, so deregistering the Switch as your primary console keeps every purchase while clearing the unit for the next owner.
