Step 1: know exactly what you have
| iPhone | Samsung / Android | |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Settings → General → About | Settings → About phone |
| Storage | Settings → General → About | Settings → About phone, or Storage |
| Battery | Settings → Battery → Battery Health | The Samsung Members app (battery status) |
| IMEI | Settings → General → About, or dial *#06# | Dial *#06# |
Step 2: look up its price
- SubSell’s Sell page: each iPhone model’s cash price, capacity by capacity on the model’s own page.
- The buyback price index: the whole iPhone range on one page.
- Sold listings (eBay’s “sold items” filter, or ads that disappeared on Marketplace) for the private-sale ceiling.
- Apple Trade In’s online estimate, remembering it is paid in Apple credit.
Step 3: account for condition
The price you see is for a like-new phone. Marks on the screen or frame, a cracked back, a battery that needs replacing or a non-genuine part bring it down; by how much is set at the check. A broken phone still has value: send two photos on WhatsApp for a price.
Step 4: get a firm price
A value is only real once someone commits to it. At SubSell, the cash price shown is guaranteed for 24 hours once your request is sent, then confirmed in store after a 5-minute check. What moves the price, model by model: how much is my used iPhone worth.
